Aikman threw for career highs in passing yards and touchdowns that season and then capped the year by winning Most Valuable Player honors in the Super Bowl

I have to say that I am getting really excited about Danny Amendola.  I watched one of his highlight vidoes on the internet and I was really impressed with him.  He has a really nice ability to get open really fast, make a catch and turn up field before anyone gets close. 

This ability directly translates into extra safety at

tention when he is lined up in the slot position.   If you are facing the Cowboys offense with Terrell Owens and Jason Witten on the field,  the last you want to do is have to add extra safety attention to someone else. 

  I hope this continues to do well in the training camp and gets a roster spot.  If Crayton steps up into a true number 2 reciever,  this would be a tremendous bonus.  Of course, this still leaves us one really good reciever away from being injury proof.

Bring on the Cleveland Browns.  They screwed us by winning enough to sour our traded draft pick.  We should be drafting in the top ten this weekend. Instead, we are drafting at the 21 spot.  We get our revenge in week 1!

 The on-and-off trade talks between Dallas and Tennessee are on again, in a big way.

The Cowboys and Titans spent Saturday going back and forth on proposals, getting considerably closer to a trade that would send talented, but troubled, cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones to Dallas.

One person familiar with the talks said they were nearing a deal, but it was not done yet. However, it now sounds as if it could be done this week, well before the April 26-27 draft.

Just last week, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said talks were at a standstill, but those talks were quickly jumpstarted over the weekend with a series of phone calls between the two teams.

Dallas had been offering one of their two sixth-round picks.

Tennessee has been holding out, refusing to budge for anything less than a fourth-round pick. Plus, Dallas wanted to attach conditions to the trade in which it could receive a draft pick back from Tennessee if Jones got into more trouble in his new city.

Now, the two sides are nearing compromise. The deal could be completed by Tuesday, which also happens to be the time that Jones’ agent, Manny Arora, said Jones plans to apply for reinstatement to the NFL. It was one year ago this past week that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell suspended Jones.

Goodell plans to review whether to reinstate Jones shortly before training camp, however Arora is likely to push for an even quicker decision.

Should the trade become official, it would not change Dallas’ draft strategy in any way. The Cowboys would proceed as if they did not have Jones, as if they still had a need at cornerback, knowing they could not count on Jones to be reinstated.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Suspended Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones will again ask NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to reinstate him, with his agent planning to send in his latest request on Tuesday.

Jones had planned to ask to be reinstated before the NFL draft on April 26-27. His agent, Manny Arora, said that being able to work out for teams would increase Jones’ appeal to those in the market for a cornerback.

“We were hoping something would get worked out with the Titans or another team to work out a trade, but the trade talks, the way I read, aren’t progressing as well as we hoped,” Arora said on Saturday. “If the commissioner reinstates or grants permission to work out at a team’s facility, that should ease the risk factor for a team interested in picking him up.”

The NFL sent Jones a letter in late February telling him he could not work out at the Titan’s facility. The Titans have given Jones permission to talk to other teams about a trade, and the Dallas Cowboys have shown the most interest. But the talks reportedly have bogged down over compensation.

Arora said they still hope Jones will be traded before the draft, and they are ready to rework his contract.

Arora also said that if they can’t get Jones reinstated they hope to at least ease the terms of his suspension, now going on more than a year, to make him more attractive.

Jones was the first defensive player drafted in 2005 with the sixth pick overall out of West Virginia, and he was Tennessee’s best defender in 2005 and 2006.

Goodell suspended him on April 10, 2007, for his off-field conduct, which now includes six arrests since being drafted.

Jones settled the last of his criminal charges on Feb. 14 by entering an Alford plea to obstruction of a police officer in Georgia, which left him with a felony conviction. Under an Alford plea, a defendant acknowledges there is enough evidence for a conviction without admitting guilt.

Goodell has said he’ll consider reinstating the cornerback before training camps open in July.
